Expositive showcases all have a computer managed control system for the regulation of atmospheric parameters: temperature and humidity concerning gasses inside the showcase.
In this way, the find will be isolated from external atmosphere and kept at a perfect atmosphere for its best preservation.
It is a real protective atmosphere which, not only minimizes the risk of any possible alteration of the find, but also guarantees the absence of any kind of infesting agent.
Our expositive showcases have been planned and realized according to specific parameters, received by the museums themselves.
The control probes as well as the plant for climatic and atmospheric regulation of gasses inside each display cabinet, are managed by a centralized system.
Protective technical module modulabile for expositive showcase module for atmospheric climatic control
The protective technical modulabile modules developed by ISOLCELL ITALIA S.p.A. for the expositive systems with showcases have been conceived for an airtight environment, necessary in order to reproduce well-defined, constant and ideal protective atmospheric-climatic conditions. Basis of the protective expositive modular system is a series of technical and mechanical devices that neutralize environmental thermal-hygrometric fluctuation on the objects preserved inside the showcase. The chemical-physical-biological parameters have also been taken into consideration, those parameters related to the chemical compatibility with the displayed material, as well as the non-emission of VOC (volatile organic components) and the fact of being microbiologically aseptic, the unassailability from xylophage insects and the aspect of not being colonizable by micro organisms.
Strict monitoring and control are carried out constantly on all parameters which distinguish the peculiarities of the established protective atmosphere, maintaining the microclimate more suitable for the preservation of the objects inside the expositive case.
The module for atmospheric climatic control is composed by a unique functional block with reduced dimensions, mm 650x650x750h, that can be inserted directly in the technical compartment of the showcase suiting all types of expositive showcases and transforming the same in an insurmountable protective barrier against biological agents, dusts, atmospheric pollution, oxidation and ageing.

The air-conditioning plant allows to modify and to keep constant and at prefixed values , the temperature inside the expositive case and it is conceived to enable characteristics and performances adequate to comply with the best preservation conditions; thanks also to an innovative ventilation system: the air flows, responsible of the thermal exchange are directed towards the peripheral walls of the plant, in order to leave the centre as immobile as possible in regard to the temperature variations from outside as well as to the air distribution flows. This device allows to contrast the effects of the difference in temperature between inside and outside of the expositive structure directly on the border walls, so far from the object to be preserved, which benefits of an optimal stability of the microclimate.
Humidity Regulation Plant
The control and the maintenance of a certain value of relative humidity inside the expositive case is referred to an active system of humidification and dehumidification, able not only to generate humidity, but also to retain it in the air, in order to keep a prefixed level of humidity in a confined volume, compensating the variations. The adjusted solution consists in passing the generated gas mixture through the humidification-dehumidification plant. The advantage of using this innovative system consists in the fact that the quantity of water they supply are relatively modest, leaving the time to the atmosphere inside the case and to the sensors for relative humidity to stabilize on the new values. The use of this active humidity regulation system, assisted by dedicated sensors, allows to monitor, correct and keep constant the relative humidity.
A marked planning attention has been dedicated to the problem of the pressure differences between inside and outside of the expositive case, which leads the external atmosphere to penetrate inside the case altering in this way the characteristics of the generated protective atmosphere, making in fact the expositive system inefficacious to the preservation of the objects inside. The mechanism of compensation has the function of neutralizing the variations of pressure and depression, in order to reduce the air exchange between inside and outside to a value approaching zero: the microclimate of the showcase can, in this way, be efficiently controlled and regulated.
The control system has the function of operating the different technologies responsible of the maintenance of the protective atmosphere and of passing the data to an analyzer, which supervise the priorities and the functioning times for the maintenance of the microclimate. The control system can dialogue with the software developed by ISOLCELL ITALIA S.p.A., “ ISOLCELL - ISOSOFT 2000” (optional) for the storage and processing of the historical data of the microclimate, displaying and printing in any moment the progress of the last 24 hours, of the last week and of the last year in the shape of graph.
The print or the display of the data shows the date, hour and minutes, the residual oxygen percentage, the temperature and the relative humidity inside the showcase
Sensors and probes
The use of sensors for the monitoring and the characterization of the climatic atmospheric parameters allows to grant the perfect composition of the protective atmosphere.
Implementations for the chemical-physical-biological parameters
With the chemical-physical-biological implementations, further than constituting an insuperable protective barrier against biological agents, dust, atmospheric pollution, it realizes also automatically a disinfestation process. In fact, changing the proportions of the gases in the atmosphere we breathe everyday, removing oxygen favourable to nitrogen, it creates a process of disinfestation with a very high efficiency causing death per anoxia of every biotic agent in all stages of development. A technology that is already ripe and refined, clean, that does not interact with the materials they get in contact with because the gas mixture produced is totally inert.
Atmosphere generation plant
In the modular protective technical modules there is a plant for the generation of a protective-unreacting atmosphere capable of producing atmosphere at high purities through a system with “molecular sieves”. the protective-unreacting atmosphere preserves the exhibit from ageing due to the presence of oxygen in the environmental air, neutralizes any atmospheric pollutant, avoids eventual oxidation, makes the object irreproachable from pests and inhibits the proliferation of the bacterial aerobic stocks.
System for the breaking-down of thin and ultra-thin dusts
The system for the breaking-down of thin and ultra-thin dusts is based on a high efficiency filter in order to break down the presence of thin and ultra-thin dusts suspended in the atmosphere of the expositive system introducing in this way a further grade of protection for the objects preserved inside the case.
A sterilization device positioned on the outlet channel of the microclimate allows to make the expositive structure at total protection, where not only the atmosphere is conditioned and further improved to create the ideal preservation conditions, but through the breaking-down of the aero-dispersed bacterial charge, neutralizes the microbiological aseptic and avoids the colonization of micro-organisms.
